PAT MARTINO QUARTET
www.patmartino.com
Pat Martino has always been recognized as one of the most exciting virtuosos in jazz. His distinctive fat sound and improvisational genius have made Martino a legend and his performances legendary. His concerts are spectacular displays of guitar prowess, extending the melodies with surprising forays of notes, clusters, runs, all with a sense of soul searching solace and faith that the next note will arrive with surprising alertness and tone.
Martino's work extending the range of guitar improvisation can be found in his great body of recorded work 22 albums as a leader, 6 as a co-leader, 10 as a featured artist, and over 40 as a sideman. With his most recent albums the reviewers agree, Pat has begun creating the most potent music of his career. Though, it is with his live work that Pat excels, walking the tightrope without a net, creating performances that explode with originality and intellect.
