Ball State Jazz Lab Ensemble
The Ball State Jazz Lab Ensemble will perform at The Jazz Kitchen April 19. See this dynamic big band in advance of their trip to Costa Rica, they were selected to perform at the Teatro Nacional Costa Rica this May!
This show will feature selections from Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday as well as original compositions from members within the group. The band will also feature the dynamic vocals of Akili McDuffey.

About Ball State Jazz Lab Director Mark Buselli:

Mark Buselli is Director of Jazz Studies at Ball State University and co-director of the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra. Buselli has over fifty arrangements published for big bands, brass ensemble, and piano/trumpet. He has nine recordings out as a leader and has performed with artists such as Slide Hampton, Jimmy Heath, Slam Stewart to Natalie Cole and Ben Vereen. Mark was the featured trumpet soloist on the award winning short film “Claire and the Keys” released in 2015. Mr. Buselli graduated from Berklee School of music in Boston and received his MM in Jazz studies from Indiana University. He is a Yamaha performing artist, the Director of the Jazz track for the Music For All Summer Symposium and a 2017 inductee to the Indianapolis Jazz Hall of Fame. Mark resides in Indianapolis with his wife Andrea and daughter Sophia.
